Indian nationality candidates between 21 and 30 years old are eligible to apply for this UPSC ESE 2024 exam.

Many IES/ESE aspirants are confused about the name of the exam. The Indian Engineering Examination (IES) is also called as Engineering Services Examination (ESE). For the last 2 years, UPSC has conducted two separate examinations with an interview under IES/ESE recruitment. The IES/ESE Recruitment stages are as follows:
- Stage 1: IES/ESE 2024 Preliminary Examination.
- Stage 2: IES/ESE 2024 Mains Examination.
- Stage 3: Personal Interview
It is already clear from the examination name that IES/ESE aspirants first should appear for the Preliminary Examination. After qualification of the preliminary exam, they are eligible to appear for the main exam. Now clearing the ESE/IES Mains examination, the candidate must clear the Personal interview to become an IES person.
UPSC conducts the IES 2024 Preliminary Examination on 20th February 2024. The main exam will be conducted on 30th June 2024. ESE Prelims 2024 will be held to recruit 167 vacant posts in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
IES/ESE 2024 Examination will be divided into four main categories as follows:
- Category I: Civil Engineering
- Category II: Mechanical Engineering
- Category III: Electrical Engineering

IES 2024 Vacancy
This year UPSC conducts the ESE 2024 Exam to fill approximately 167 Vacancies including 07 vacancies for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). We know this year there are low vacancies available but if you dream of becoming an IES then you should go for it, the number of vacancies doesn’t matter.

IES 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for the IES/ESE 2024 Application Form. Also, candidates from neighboring countries having valid proof of Indian nationality are eligible.
Age Limit: A candidate must complete the age between 21 years to 30 years on 1st January 2024. He/she should not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1994 and later on 1st January 2003.
Education Qualification: The candidate must have obtained an Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics and telecommunication Engineering from a recognized university or other educational institutes. Also, the Current Final year students are eligible for the IES 2024 Examination.

UPSC ESE 2024 Application Form
Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can fill IES/ESE 2024 Online Application Form from 6th September 2024. The aspirant must visit the UPSC website to fill out the UPSC IES 2024 Application Form. In the UPSC ESE Application form candidates must fill parts i.e. part 1 & part 2. After filling in all the required information candidates must pay the application fee before hitting the submit button.

IES/ESE 2024 Admit Card
Union Public Service Commission releases the separate ESE 2024 Admit Card for the IES Prelims & Mains examination. These admit cards will be released 3 weeks prior to the conduction of the examination. The admit card for ESE Prelims will be released in the 1st week of July 2024 and the admit card for IES 2024 Mains Admit Card, in the 2nd Week of January 2024. IES 2024 Result
UPSC ESE 2024 preliminary examination results will be announced in March 2024. Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) releases the list of selected candidates in PDF format. Candidate must check their roll number in a pdf sheet as their result. The results of the Mains Exam will be released separately in the month of December 2024.

The UPSC already declared that they going to conduct UPSC ESE examination on 18th July 2024. The application form starts on 7th April 2024
